Huth's History |
|
| Before Gerry Huth developed the first automotive
pipe bender in the 1950s, fitting exhaust pipes was a difficult job that
was beyond the means of many shops. Mechanics had to cut and weld pipe
sections, making small bends manually. By 1958, Huth had developed the
first prototype of the portable pipe bender. Soon, Huth was supplying
benders to shops across the country. Huth Benders continue to lead the
field more than 40 years later due to ongoing research and development,
a strong commitment to quality and a responsiveness to the needs of a
changing industry.

| The value of portable, affordable pipe benders
was quickly evident when Huth first introduced them. With the increased
number and variety of cars on the road in the last 40 years, that need
has increased. With a Huth bender, it's not necessary to keep a variety
of pre-bent pipes in inventory. With a few sizes of straight tubing on
hand, you can quickly bend pipes for thousands of applications. You increase
your profit margin and your customers don't have to wait for pre-bent
pipes to be delivered. Huth Program Bending Cards contain more than 7,500 part numbers. Most of these can be bent in a few minutes. Add Huth's Rod Bracket Bender and bend your own brackets, too. |

Huth Benders |
|
| Although some fundamental, time-tested concepts
were retained, ongoing research and development has allowed Huth Manufacturing
to improve and refine their line of benders. Today Huth offers 8 automotive
pipe benders, as well as numerous accessories, such as portable expanders,
swager/expanders, oil filter crushers and a wide variety of tooling and
tooling packages. All Huth automotive pipe benders share some important features: Rugged I-beam construction, 58,000 Ibs. of bending power and a built-in swager/expander for complete end-finishing. There are some important differences between the benders, though. The chart below highlights some of these differences. |
