Paint Booth Questions and Answers

Q. What is the benefit of a nut and bolt paint booth over a tech screw paint booth?

A. A nut and bolt booth has a shorter installation time because all the panels line up exactly with one another like a jig saw puzzle. It is very simple to install and panel alignment is rarely a problem. A tech screw booth is like building a house. Be prepared to get out the laser level and T square because you will need them. A nut and bolt booth assembles much easier and requires very little in that department unless of course the surface it is being mounted on is not level or has some imperfections. The best part about the nut and bolt booth is that it can be easily disassembled and relocated. A tech screw booth is basically one time up and forget about relocating it. We sell both types of booths and are uniquely qualified to help you with either. A tech screw booth is usually a bare bones down and dirty price booth but our manufacturing process has given us the ability to give you a nut and bolt paint booth for the price of a tech screw paint booth.

Q. How much space do I need around the booth to install it?

A. Generally speaking your need about 30” around the booth on all sides to be able to install it but could change according to local codes.

Q. Do our Paint Booths meet “code”?

A. Our spray booths are manufactured and designed for code approval. All models are manufactured from materials that meet the specs of the National Board of Fire Underwriters, as recommended by the 2000 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA33) requirements. They are also built within OSHA guidelines. You should always check your local building and fire codes before purchasing our booth or any other booth.

Q. Explain exhaust/duct work requirements?

A. You need an exhaust/duct work system to exhaust fumes to the outside of your building some of our booths come with duct packages and some don’t. Our experienced sales consultants can advise you of the proper package for your needs.

Q. Can the paint booths be used outside?

A. Our sheet metal booths can not be used outside but we have a patented cam lock system with insulated panels that will be coming soon and can be used outside as a separate building with no additional structure needed. All our sheet metal paint booths are manufactured to be assembled and operated in enclosed areas away from the weather.

Q. What is typically not included in our paint booths?

A. We supply all the basic items which the majority of suppliers provide. However, there are a few items that we do not supply. These include 48" fluorescent light bulbs (because they are prone to breakage in shipping) and electrical wiring kits (starter, switches, conduit, etc). Wiring codes vary widely from state to state and even from county to county; we have found it is just more cost effective for our customers to have a licensed electrician provide all the necessary components. We do however provide everything listed in the various packages offered on our site

Q. Do I need a Fire Suppression System?

A. This requirement varies according to state and local codes. You should check with your local Fire Marshall.

Q. Will I need someone to install my paint booth?

A. We encourage you to install your paint booth yourself. Each booth comes with assembly instructions and numbered panels for ease of installation. Our nut and bolt booths go together in about half the time of a tech screw booth, depending on how handy you are, you and a couple of friends can get your paint booth up in 2 to 3 days. Should you want a professional installer we can recommend someone in your area. however, this cost usually runs $2,000 - $2,500. If you install your booth, this is a big savings. You will need an electrician to wire and hookup your power source.

Q. How will we unload the shipping crate containing the booth?

A. We typically use a commercial freight carrier to ship our paint booths. You will need a forklift with a dock or a rollback truck. The entire unit weighs approximately 3,000 pounds and up.

Q. What is the Warranty Period?

A. The standard Warranty is for 3 years, which is 2 years longer than most paint booth companies.

Q. Who makes the paint booths?

A. We do, and have 3 manufacturing plants strategically located throughout the United States so that shipping charges are significantly reduced and you get your product quicker.

Q. What if I need some modifications to your presented booths?

A. Because we manufacture our booths, we are able to make custom changes. You simply have to tell us what you would like.

Q. What are the differences between the different types of paint booths?

A. The differences are primarily in the presentation of the air flow. Your salesperson can explain the benefits of each.

Q. How long does it take for delivery after I order?

A. Paint booths are usually in stock and if ordered before Noon time can sometimes be shipped the same day. Shipping times vary according to location but generally would not take more than 7 days. Ask your sales person for estimated ship times.
